Rick Davis and I just got back from the 1998 Divisional Runoffs that took place in Washington State as part of the DooWop PRO Rally.  We are proud to announce that we won our class (O2 or "Over Two Liter") and brought home the title of the Best Two Wheel Drive Divisional Rally team (in O2) in the country!

We installed the shifter and tested in under brutal rally conditions.  It worked flawlessly and received great praise from Rick.  It is an excellent product.  Now if only you guys can make some "rock proof" stickers, we will be in great shape! (The UUC stickers that we applied to the front airdam were partly stripped off by the very abrasive gravel used to surface the logging roads out in Washington)

Best Regards!

This past weekend, I had a UUC shortshifter installed in my '99 M3 and I have to say that I was amazed by the difference. They claim that it is only 28% shorter but it seems like about 50% shorter to me. It also went from a slightly rubbery, almost butter like shifting action to a more mechanical and firm action where it feels like you are working the transmission. I personally think that it makes the shifter feel about 90% like the one in the NSX (a good thing) but has a little more throw. I highly recommend this addition to anyone considering it. You can get more information about it at www.shortshifter.com and no, they didn't give me a discount for saying this.

"I had just installed your short shift kit with ERK in my '91 BMW 318i E30, I ordered the kit from Doug Mahar of Turner Motorsport.
It's excellent, the only drawback is I want a lot more power from my car now.
I will get Doug to find me an M3, they are not available in Indonesia, strip the car completely, build a 2.5L motor and send all the parts to me.
Because of your short shift kit I will built a 4 door E30 M3."

"It's been a couple of months since I had the stock shifter in my car, but as I remember it, the UUC shifter is even smoother. Very nice, no notchiness."
- Mark D., CA.

"I installed the ERK (from UUC Motorwerks) on my '98 M3 yesterday. There
was a noticeable improvement in both the smoothness of shifting and the
effort required. Most notably, the notchiness was almost gone. If you
have one of the M Roadster shifter conversions on your E36, I would definitely
recommend this addition."

- Ken D., Portland, OR

"I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the kit and the quality of the ERK."

"Just got the UUC shortshifter installed this afternoon. Love it. It is a much shorter and faster shifter. The effort is not increased over the stock to any noticable degree. I had a Metric Mechanic short shifter and tranny on my 89 535i 5sp and this set up is much better. The height of the shifter and everything in the car seems stock, but the shift throws are half as long. "

"I've had the pleasure of living with a UUC Ultimate Short Shifter for almost a week now in my '98 M3. In short, the car now shifts LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE FROM THE FACTORY!

The smoothness of the shift and effort involved to shift is at worst the same as stock. The UUC shifter might be a little smoother than stock, but I'd have to jump back and forth between a BL/SS equipped M3 and a stock M3 a few times to be sure. It's not perfect, but it is damn good!

I highly recommend this upgrade, no matter what you do with your M3 (I seem to spend most of my driver seat time commuting to work these days). The shifter has certainly eliminated one of my biggest whines about the M3. In fact, I think BMW NA should pay for the upgrade for every E36 M3 owner that wants it. It's well worth the money investment since BMW won't."
